Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Clipora (“the App”, “we”) handles information when you use the Android application Clipora. Clipora is a local media vault and organizer. It is designed so that your photos, videos, audio, and vault files stay on your device.
1. Summary
- We do not require you to create an account.
- We do not operate a Clipora server that stores your media library or vault files.
- Media access, camera, and microphone are used only to provide on-device features you choose to use.
- Vault files are encrypted on the device. Your PIN is stored only as a salted hash on the device.
- Uninstalling the App removes App-private data, including the encrypted vault stored in the App’s private storage.
2. Information the App accesses on your device
Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, Clipora may access:
- Photos, videos, and audio — to list, play, favorite, analyze storage, find duplicates, delete files you select, and optionally move items into the private vault.
- Camera — to capture photos and videos with the private camera, which saves into the vault rather than the public gallery.
- Microphone — only while recording video with the private camera, so recorded clips can include sound.
- App storage — to keep favorites, coin balance, subscription status on this device, vault index, and encrypted vault files.
Android may also show system permission prompts. You can deny a permission; the related feature will not work until it is granted (for example, the library cannot scan without media access).
3. Data stored on your device
The following is stored locally, not in a Clipora cloud account:
- Favorite media identifiers
- Coin balance, check-in time, and coin history
- Whether a subscription plan is active on this device, and which plan
- Vault PIN (salted hash only, not the PIN itself)
- Encrypted vault files and a vault item index
Vault media is encrypted with AES-GCM using a key kept in the Android Keystore on your device. If you restore an item from the vault, it is written back to the device gallery through Android’s MediaStore, after you confirm any system delete/restore prompts.
4. Information we do not collect
- We do not collect your name, email, or payment card details inside the App.
- We do not upload your photos, videos, audio, or vault files to Clipora servers.
- We do not sell your personal information.
Coin packs and subscription plans in the current App version are activated on the device. They are not processed through a Clipora payment website and do not send card data to us.
5. Internet, advertising identifier, and third parties
The App declares Internet permission. The current product features described above work on-device. Internet may be used by the Android system, media playback components, or future updates (for example app updates through Google Play, or advertising if enabled later).
The App declares the Advertising ID permission. If advertising is shown, an advertising identifier provided by the device/Google Play services may be used to serve and measure ads, subject to your device advertising settings. You can reset or limit ad tracking in Android settings.
Google Play services and the Android operating system are provided by Google and are governed by Google’s own policies. We do not control those services.
6. Permissions list
- Camera
- Microphone (record audio)
- Read media images, video, and audio (and older storage permissions on older Android versions)
- Internet
- Advertising ID
7. Children
Clipora is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us using the details below so we can help you remove the App data from the device.
8. Data retention and deletion
Local App data remains on the device until you delete it in the App (for example removing a vault item) or uninstall Clipora. Uninstalling deletes the App’s private storage, including encrypted vault files stored there. Media that remains in the device gallery is not deleted by uninstalling unless you already deleted those files in the App or the system gallery.
9. Security
We use on-device encryption for vault files and encrypted preferences for settings such as favorites and coin history. No method of storage is perfectly secure. Keep your device locked and do not share your vault PIN. We cannot recover a forgotten PIN because it is not sent to us.
10. International users
Because processing happens on your device, your media is not transferred to Clipora servers. If you use Google Play, Google may process account and device information according to Google’s Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes. The effective date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
12. Contact
For privacy questions about Clipora, contact the developer using the email address listed on the Clipora Google Play Store listing, or email:
Replace that address with the same email you use as the Play Console developer contact before you publish this page.
